VFG felt cleaning pellets are a quick, no-rod way to clear and polish the bore of a .177 air rifle or air pistol. Each pellet is a tight plug of compressed felt sized to the .177 (4.5mm) bore. As the gun fires, pressure behind the pellet squeezes it down and pushes it out to the full diameter of the barrel, so it follows the rifling and wipes fouling and lubricant from every part of the bore on its way out. Fired at the end of a session, they leave the barrel clean and ready for next time, and they are small enough to keep in a pocket or pellet pouch for use in the field. Note that these are cleaning pellets for barrel care, not shooting pellets for hunting or targets. They work well alongside a proper rod-and-patch clean, and for day-to-day maintenance they keep a barrel consistent with very little effort. To avoid leaving any fibres behind, many shooters seat a pointed lead pellet behind the felt and fire the two together. Supplied in a box of 100.
