Barnes' Triple-Shock X (TSX) is one of the best-known all-copper hunting bullets on the market, and this 78-grain .224in version is sized for the 22 Valkyrie and .22 Nosler cartridges. Machined from solid copper rather than a conventional lead core, the TSX has no jacket to separate from a core - the whole bullet expands and holds together as one piece. A series of rings cut into the bullet's shank act as pressure relief valves, letting displaced copper flow into them under firing pressure, which cuts fouling and keeps chamber pressures down compared with a plain-shank design. On impact the nose opens into four sharp petals that punch a wide, consistent wound channel, while the base retains close to its full starting weight for deep, reliable penetration. The boat-tail profile (sectional density .222, ballistic coefficient .383) keeps the trajectory flat and stable downrange, and Barnes specifies a barrel twist of 1:7in or faster for this weight. Supplied as 50 bullet heads per box for handloaders - this is a reloading component, not loaded ammunition, and needs a case, powder and primer to build a complete cartridge.
