Barnes TTSX 6mm .243 80 grain bullets are lead-free reloading components supplied 50 to a box for handloaders — this is not loaded ammunition. Machined from a solid copper shank, the Tipped Triple-Shock X carries a streamlined polymer tip that boosts the ballistic coefficient and triggers instant expansion on contact. Multiple rings cut into the shank relieve pressure and virtually eliminate copper fouling, while also contributing to the bullet's accuracy. On impact, hydraulic pressure forces the nose open into four razor-sharp cutting petals that double the bullet's original diameter, driving a rapid, decisive wound channel while the solid copper shank holds together for full penetration and near-total weight retention. Barnes recommends seating bullets around 0.050in off the lands as a starting point, refining seating depth between 0.030in and 0.070in for the best accuracy in an individual rifle. At 80 grains, this is a lighter-for-calibre, deep-penetrating 6mm option well suited to .243 Winchester handloads for deer stalking and general UK quarry, giving reloaders a proven lead-free bullet to build their own loads around.
