Hornady Superformance .30-06 Springfield 165gr CX combines two of Hornady's most significant developments in one factory load. The CX (Copper alloy eXpanding) bullet is a monolithic copper-alloy projectile that expands reliably across a wide range of impact velocities, retains virtually all its weight, and leaves no lead in the food chain — making it fully compliant with lead-free shooting requirements in restricted zones. Superformance's progressive-burning propellant technology pushes the 165gr CX to a muzzle velocity of 2,940 fps — up to 200 fps faster than comparable conventional loads in the same calibre, without increasing chamber pressure, recoil, or muzzle blast. The result is a flatter trajectory and more retained energy at distance: 3,167 ft-lbs at the muzzle and a ballistic coefficient of .440 (G1). For deer stalking, the .30-06 Springfield remains one of the most widely used and legally accepted calibres in the UK, and this load is well-suited to red, sika, and fallow deer at typical woodland and hill ranges. Sold in 20-round boxes. Centre-fire rifle ammunition — Firearms Certificate (FAC) required to purchase in the UK.
