The Hornady FTX 35 calibre .355 diameter 165-grain bullet is a component projectile designed for handloaders working with lever-action pistol cartridges such as .357 Magnum. It is not loaded ammunition — this is a bare bullet head sold for reloading. The FTX design brings Hornady's patented Flex Tip technology to handgun cartridges: the soft polymer tip compresses into the bullet on impact, initiating controlled expansion across a wide range of velocities, including the higher velocities generated by lever-action firearms. This makes it a practical choice where conventional hollow points expand too rapidly and sacrifice penetration. The one-piece high-antimony lead core is mechanically locked to the jacket via Hornady's InterLock ring, maintaining core-jacket integrity through expansion for reliable weight retention and deep penetration on medium and heavy game. A ballistically efficient secant ogive profile and specially engineered heavy jacket over the shank complete the design, delivering the flat trajectories and accuracy that reloaders demand.
