- Component bullets for handloading — not factory loaded ammunition
The Hornady XTP (eXtreme Terminal Performance) is a jacketed hollow-point bullet designed for handloaders who demand reliable, controlled expansion across a wide range of velocities. This 110-grain .357" diameter projectile is suited to .38 Special and .357 Magnum handloads for hunting, target shooting, and self-defence applications. Precise serrations divide the XTP into symmetrical sections, initiating controlled expansion even at lower handgun velocities while the drawn gilding-metal jacket — thicker at the base, progressively thinner toward the nose — governs the rate of expansion throughout penetration. The swaged lead core ensures uniform density for consistent in-flight stability and balanced upset. A gilding-metal jacket covers the nose entirely, keeping the hollow cavity clear on impact and aiding reliable feeding in semi-automatic pistols. On revolver bullets a cannelure allows accurate, consistent case crimping; all cannelures are applied before final forming to avoid distortion. These are component projectiles for handloading only — not loaded ammunition.
