The collet fits the Cam-Lock Bullet Puller body, which mounts in the ram of any standard reloading press. A quarter-turn of the collet body cams it closed around the bullet shank; the press downstroke then draws the bullet cleanly from the case without damaging either component. For .204 Ruger reloaders, this press-based method is far preferable to a kinetic puller — the small-diameter, often polymer-tipped bullets used in this calibre are particularly susceptible to damage from impact-type pullers.
