The Hornady ECX is a monolithic copper-alloy component bullet designed for handloaders who want high-performance terminal results without the use of a traditional lead core. Sized at 8mm (.323" diameter) and weighing 180 grains, each bullet is built from a single piece of copper alloy that resists separation and delivers consistent deep penetration. The ECX design combines reliable controlled expansion with outstanding weight retention, making it well suited to medium and large European game including red deer, fallow, and wild boar. As a lead-free, non-traditional projectile it is also appropriate for use in areas where lead ammunition is restricted. Sold in a pack of 50 component bullets — no propellant, primer or case included — these are intended for use by handloaders who will seat them in their own reloaded cases. No firearms certificate is required to purchase component bullet heads in the UK.
