The Hornady PTX Powder Through Expander for .355-diameter cases is a dedicated insert for the Hornady Case Activated Powder Drop, designed to be used with the Lock-N-Load AP progressive press. As the powder measure dispenses a charge, the PTX simultaneously bells the case mouth to the correct .355-inch diameter, combining two operations into a single station. This removes the need for a separate expander die, freeing up one station on the press — typically used for a taper crimp die or a powder cop check. Sized for 9mm and other .355-diameter pistol cases, it works correctly with lead, plated and jacketed bullets. The insert threads directly into the Case Activated Powder Drop and is adjusted using the powder drop's standard mounting arrangement.
