The Hornady PTX Powder Through Expander for .357-diameter cases is a purpose-made insert for the Hornady Case Activated Powder Drop on the Lock-N-Load AP progressive press. As the powder charge is dropped, the PTX simultaneously expands the case mouth to .357 inches, combining powder dispensing and mouth belling into one single station. This saves a station on the press — freeing it for a taper crimp die or a powder cop — without any loss of case preparation quality. The .357-diameter sizing suits .38 Special and .357 Magnum cases, as well as other pistol cartridges that seat a .357-inch bullet. It works with lead, plated and jacketed bullets alike. The insert threads directly into the Case Activated Powder Drop and requires no additional tooling. For reloaders running .357 or .38 Special on a Hornady progressive press, this PTX expander removes a die station from the workflow without removing any steps from the process.
