The A-Tip Match bullet series uses a long, precision-machined aluminium tip that demands a dedicated seating stem shaped to its exact profile — a standard stem will bear against the aluminium tip during seating, risking deformation that undermines the bullet's ballistic performance. This stem is profiled to suit the 30 cal 230gr and 250gr A-Tip Match bullets, seating them cleanly and uniformly without contact damage to the tip. It is compatible with Hornady Custom Grade dies only and cannot be used with other manufacturers' die sets. Handloaders running the heavier 30 calibre A-Tip Match projectiles — typically in cartridges such as the 300 PRC or 300 Norma for long-range competition and extended-range shooting — will find this the correct stem to complete or replace in their die set.
