This seating stem is machined to match the ogive of the 230gr ELD-X specifically, so the die drives each bullet straight into the case and seats it to a repeatable depth without pressing on or deforming the polymer tip insert. Uniform seating depth is especially significant with heavier, longer bullets, where any deviation in cartridge overall length has a proportionally greater effect on neck tension and chamber pressure.
