- Suitable spare or upgrade for handloaders running 7mm ELD-X loads
The Hornady Seating Stem for 7mm ELD-X 150 and 162 grain bullets is a precision-machined internal component for Hornady Custom Grade seating dies. Shaped to follow the ogive of the 7mm ELD-X (Extremely Low Drag eXpanding) bullet in either 150 or 162 grain weights, the stem seats each projectile cleanly and consistently without contacting or deforming the heat-shield polymer tip. Uniform seating depth translates directly into consistent cartridge overall length and, in turn, more predictable chamber pressure and velocity — factors that matter to any handloader working up accurate long-range loads. This stem covers both the 7mm ELD-X 150gr and 162gr bullet weights, which share the same seating profile in Hornady Custom Grade dies. It is not compatible with seating dies from other manufacturers. A straightforward upgrade or spare for reloaders building 7mm loads around the ELD-X bullet line.
