The Steel Flex ProtectMet is a lace-on metatarsal guard, not a boot in its own right — it straps and laces over your existing safety footwear to add impact protection across the top of the foot wherever metatarsal cover is needed. Known by the manufacturer as MetGUARDZ, it meets or exceeds both CSA and ASTM metatarsal impact performance criteria, deflecting and dispersing the force of falling loads before it reaches the foot. A patent-pending hinged lacing system lets you tie and untie your boots as normal with the guard fitted, and the unit secures using your existing laces and the straps provided, so there's no need for a separate pair of dedicated met-guard boots. It's built to shrug off slag, acid, alkalis, fuel oil, and both high and low temperatures, making it a sound choice around welding, fabrication, and general site work. Because it fits over most types of safety footwear and is transferable between users, it's a practical, economical option for visitors, temporary staff, contractors, and anyone who needs metatarsal protection on an occasional basis rather than every day.
