The Vortex Diamondback® HD 15x56 is the long-range end of the Diamondback HD line, a serious glassing binocular built to sit on a tripod rather than round your neck all day. At 15x magnification through a 56mm objective it pulls detail out of distant hillsides and open ground, with HD extra-low dispersion glass, fully multi-coated lenses and dielectric-coated, phase-corrected roof prisms keeping the image bright and colour-true even as the light fades. A magnesium chassis under the rubber armour keeps weight reasonable for the power on offer, though at 34.8oz it is still a two-handed, tripod-mounted tool rather than a walking pair - Vortex supplies a tripod adapter in the box for exactly that. Field of view is a workable 230ft at 1000 yards, close focus is 14ft, and the 3.7mm exit pupil is typical of a 15x optic, so it rewards a steady rest more than a quick shoulder-mount. Argon-purged, O-ring sealed and ArmorTek-coated, it is fully waterproof, fogproof and shockproof. The included GlassPak™ harness keeps it close and protected between glassing sessions, with a comfort neck strap, lens cloth and tethered lens covers also supplied.
