Blanks for gun dog training and for starting work. Most of what sells here goes into a dummy launcher.
Dummy launcher blanks are the .22 cartridges — short crimped and long, in tubs of 100, plus the Fiocchi box of 200. The colour coding matters: different loads throw the dummy different distances, so work up rather than starting on the heaviest and putting a dummy over the hedge. The green-light .22 blanks are the lighter option for close work and young dogs.
Starting and blank-firing — 8mm, 9mm P.A.K, .380 nitro and .380 black powder effect. The black powder effect loads give visible smoke, which is the point of them.

The legal position, plainly. Blank cartridges of not more than one inch in diameter fall outside Section 1 of the Firearms Act 1968, so the blanks on this page are not certificate-controlled ammunition. A blank-firing revolver is an imitation firearm: it cannot be sold to anyone under 18, and imitation firearms carry their own restrictions on sale and on carrying in a public place. Buy accordingly, and if you are in any doubt about your own circumstances, check before ordering rather than after.
Storing and using them. Blanks are still explosive charges. Keep them dry and away from heat, never point a launcher or blank firer at anyone, and introduce a young dog to the noise at distance before you ever fire one close to it. A gun-shy dog is usually made in a single careless morning.
