Laurin Metalli's Bolster 15-22-3 Brass 2mm Hole is a knife-making fitting rather than a finished knife or tool: a solid brass bolster measuring 15mm wide by 22mm long by 3mm thick, supplied ready-drilled with a 2mm hole through the block. Laurin Metalli is a family-run maker based in Kauhava, Finland, trading since 1918 and now in its fourth generation, producing knife blade blanks, bolsters and other fittings that are 100% made in Finland. A bolster is fitted between the blade tang and the handle scales during a custom knife build or re-handle — it seals the joint, gives a clean transition from blade to grip, and adds weight at the front of the handle for better balance in the hand. This 15-22-3 size suits a puukko-scale blade. Sold as a single component for the knife maker's own build; check it against your blade's tang dimensions before ordering.
