Laurin Metalli are a Finnish forge, and this is knifemaking stock rather than finished knives. If you are building a puukko or a leuku, or rehandling something, this is where the parts are.
Blade blanks
Carving blanks from 42mm up through 58mm, 77mm, 80mm and 95mm, in carbon steel, 80CrV2 and stainless, some with a ricasso and some progressive tempered. At the larger end there is a 240mm carbon steel Leuku blank, and a 58mm stainless mushroom blade. The choice comes down to the same trade-off as always: carbon steel takes a finer edge and holds it, stainless forgives neglect.
Bolsters
Brass bolsters in matched sizes - 15-22-3 with a 2mm hole, 16-24-3 straight, and the 18-35-3 shaped for a leuku. The three figures are the dimensions, so check them against the tang and the handle blank you are working to before ordering, because a bolster that does not fit the tang means starting again.
Worth knowing
A progressive tempered blade is harder at the edge and softer towards the tang, which is what stops a long blade snapping. Do not put heat anywhere near a finished blank while fitting a handle - you will draw the temper out of the edge and no amount of sharpening will bring it back.
