Laurin Metalli's Bolster 16-24-3 Brass Straight is a knife-making fitting rather than a finished knife or tool: a solid brass bolster measuring 16mm wide by 24mm long by 3mm thick, left as a flat, square-edged block rather than contoured. Laurin Metalli is a family-run maker based in Kauhava, Finland, trading since 1918 and now in its fourth generation, producing knife blade blanks, bolsters and other fittings that are 100% made in Finland. Fitted between the blade tang and the handle scales during a custom knife build or re-handle, a bolster seals the joint, gives a clean, sealed transition from blade to grip, and adds weight at the front of the handle for better balance in the hand. The 'Straight' profile keeps a plain, square line — a more workmanlike finish than the rounded 'Shaped' version at the same 16-24-3 size, and a common choice on a plainer, more functional build.
