The Laurin Metalli 80mm Carbon Steel Carving Blade Blank is a knife-maker's component supplied as an unhandled blade ready for custom fitting. Made in Kauhava, Finland — a town with a centuries-long tradition of puukko craftsmanship — the blade is ground from 80CrV2 carbon steel and heat-treated to 59–60 HRC, giving a fine edge that sharpens readily and holds well under use. At 80mm blade length with a 16mm depth and 3.25mm spine, the proportions suit a compact carving or woodworking puukko. The ricasso — the unsharpened flat at the base of the blade — allows a clean, tight fit against a bolster or guard, keeping moisture out of the handle junction.
