This is the small 90mm leuku blade from Laurin Metalli of Kauhava, Finland — a blade blank supplied on its own, with no handle or sheath fitted, for anyone building their own knife rather than buying one ready-made. At 90mm blade length, 27mm blade depth and around 3.25mm thick, it's the smallest blade in Laurin's leuku range: closer in scale to a general camp or game-prep knife than the big hewing leukus used for heavier bushcraft work. It's ground from 80CrV2, a carbon tool steel widely used in Scandinavian knife-making for the keen edge it takes and how easily it resharpens on a stone — the trade-off is that, unlike stainless, it will rust if left wet, so it needs a wipe dry and a light oil after use. The blade carries a full-width Scandi-ground tang, giving plenty of surface to fit scales or shape into a stick-tang handle. Total length including the tang runs to around 220mm, at a light 76g. Supplied blade-only: source your own handle material, and have a sheath made once the knife is finished.
