Lockdown make the kit that goes inside a gun cabinet rather than the cabinet itself: moisture control, storage and locks.
Damp is the real enemy
A cabinet bolted to an outside wall, in a garage or in an unheated outbuilding will collect condensation, and rust starts on the bores and actions long before anyone notices. A hygrometer tells you whether you have a problem. Rechargeable silica gel desiccants in 40g, 450g and 750g sizes deal with it – match the size to the cabinet, and recharge them as the instructions say rather than waiting until they are saturated. Gun socks in rifle, scoped-rifle and pistol lengths keep guns from knocking together in the cabinet.
Storage and locks
The magnetic barrel rest, handgun hangers and racks help organise a cabinet. Most cartridge handguns are prohibited in Great Britain, so in practice those racks hold air pistols, blank-firers and the like – and in Scotland an air pistol needs an Air Weapon Certificate to buy, use or possess.
