The Marttiini Lynx 131 is the original Lynx pattern, developed by the company's founder Janne Marttiini in the 1930s and in near-continuous production since Marttiini was formed in 1928. It's the oldest model in the Lynx range and still one of the brand's best-selling knives, with more than four million pieces produced across the series to date. The 11cm stainless steel blade carries the Lynx's characteristic slightly upturned tip, a shape that suits fine skinning and detail work as well as general carving. The handle is curly birch with a varnished finish, a material prized in Finnish knife-making for both grip and looks, with every piece showing its own natural grain pattern. A brown leather sheath is included, carrying the decorative scroll-work typical of Marttiini's traditional range and rooted in the company's northern Finnish heritage. At 22cm overall, it's a genuine working puukko rather than a display piece - equally at home dressing game, preparing a camp meal or general outdoor use, and built to the pattern that has defined Marttiini for close to a century.
