Regatta Outdoor & Workwear

    Filter

Regatta sit at the affordable end of outdoor and workwear, and that is exactly what they are good for. This is not stalking kit and we would not sell it as such - it is what you buy when the garment is going to get destroyed, outgrown, or both.

      Kids' waterproofs

The Stormbreak jacket and overtrousers are the useful things here. A child will grow out of a waterproof in a season and put a hole in it before that, which makes an expensive one hard to justify. Buy the cheap one, buy it a size up, and replace it next year without wincing.

The Dover fleece-lined jacket is the warmer option for standing about in the cold - beating days, touchline, the school gate.

      Coveralls

The Professional range is the trade side: the TRJ513R zip-fasten coverall for general work, the TRJ515 insulated version for cold stores and winter yard work, and the Seedling stud coverall in children's sizes. A coverall earns its keep for exactly one reason - it goes on over what you are already wearing and comes off filthy at the door.

Stud fastening is easier in gloves than a zip; the zip is warmer. That is the whole decision.

      The rest

The Avant waterproof and the X-Pro Icefall gilet are general outdoor layers. The Athens tracksuit bottoms and Salt Lake polo are casual. Straightforward, unremarkable, priced accordingly.

If the garment is going to the hill

Buy from the field ranges instead. Regatta fabrics are not cut or finished for stalking - they are bright, they rustle, and the cut is made for walking rather than for shooting. See Hunting Jackets, Waterproof Jackets and Waterproof Trousers, or the brand ranges under Härkila, Seeland and Deerhunter.
