The boat-tail profile and a ballistic coefficient of 0.508 give a flat trajectory and strong resistance to wind drift at extended range, while a sectional density of 0.264 supports deep, reliable penetration into dense, thick-skinned game. On impact, the polymer tip drives instant, controlled expansion, opening the nose into four razor-sharp copper petals that roughly double the bullet's original diameter and cut a wide wound channel, while the solid copper shank holds together for high weight retention and consistent terminal performance. Barnes recommends a minimum twist rate of 1:11" or faster to stabilise this bullet. Suited to stalkers and hunters reloading for medium and large UK quarry species where deep penetration and dependable expansion matter.
