- Solid copper, lead-free rifle bullet — .30 calibre (.308), 180 grains, 50 per box for handloaders
- Polymer tip boosts ballistic coefficient and reliably initiates expansion, even at extended range
- Re-engineered nose cavity drives fast, consistent expansion into four razor-sharp cutting petals
- Grooved shank relieves bore pressure and reduces copper fouling for better accuracy
- Near-100% weight retention for deep, controlled penetration on medium and large game
- Boat-tail profile for a flatter trajectory and consistent performance downrange
- Component bullets only — for handloaders assembling their own .30 calibre cartridges
Barnes TTSX (Tipped Triple-Shock X) is a 100% copper, lead-free rifle bullet built for handloaders who want reliable expansion and deep penetration on medium and large game. This .30 calibre (.308) bullet weighs 180 grains and is boxed as a component projectile, 50 to the box, for reloading rather than as loaded ammunition. It carries all the construction of the standard Triple-Shock X — a solid copper shank with a re-engineered hollow nose cavity and four skiving cuts — plus a polymer tip that boosts ballistic coefficient and reliably starts expansion on impact, even at the lower velocities encountered at longer range. On impact the nose peels back into four razor-sharp cutting petals while the shank stays intact, so the bullet typically retains close to its full weight rather than fragmenting. Grooves cut into the bearing surface act as pressure-relief channels, cutting bore friction, fouling and pressure spikes without sacrificing accuracy. A popular choice in .308 Winchester, .30-06 and similar .30 calibre cartridges for deer stalking and general big-game hunting.
