Built on the same solid-copper platform as the original TSX, the TTSX adds a polymer tip that boosts ballistic coefficient and initiates expansion the instant it meets game, while a re-engineered nose cavity opens the petals faster for devastating terminal performance without the jacket-core separation that can affect conventional bullets. At 110 grains with a sectional density of .166 and a ballistic coefficient of .295, this flat-base version is loaded to an overall length of 2.735in in Barnes' own published load data and suits fast-driven, flatter-shooting handloads in .30-calibre rifle cartridges such as the .308 Winchester. Being pure copper, it also sidesteps lead-based ammunition restrictions in areas where these apply, and its controlled expansion with near-complete weight retention gives reliable penetration on typical UK deer species.
