Sierra's Pro-Hunter .30 calibre 180 grain Round Nose bullets (0.308" diameter, product #2170) are reloading projectiles for centrefire rifle cartridges such as .308 Winchester and .30-06 Springfield, sold in a box of 100 and supplied unloaded for handloaders to seat themselves. The flat-base design pairs Sierra's long-standing accuracy with a custom-tapered jacket engineered for controlled expansion, strong weight retention and deep penetration. Their short overall length for the given weight lets a rifle barrel stabilise a heavier round-nose bullet than an equivalent Spitzer-pointed design would allow, which is why Sierra recommends the 180 grain Pro-Hunter for larger game at short to medium range, while still performing well on bigger whitetail-sized deer. The bullet carries a G1 ballistic coefficient of 0.24 and a cannelure for consistent crimping. Manufactured in the USA, it suits stalkers and handloaders after a proven, dependable big-game bullet for their own reloads rather than factory ammunition.
