Hornady Superformance Varmint is a factory-loaded .222 Remington round built for foxing, varminting and small-vermin control, supplied 20 to the box. Each cartridge drives a 50-grain V-MAX bullet, a polymer-tipped, boat-tailed projectile (ballistic coefficient .242) that holds a flat line out to range and opens fast on impact for clean, decisive results on foxes, corvids and rabbits. The Superformance propellant is the point of difference: it lifts muzzle velocity by roughly 100 to 200 fps over standard loads without raising pressures or fouling, with Hornady quoting 3345 fps at the muzzle. That extra speed flattens the trajectory and trims wind drift, which matters when you are reading a shifting crosswind across a stubble field at last light. The loads use clean-burning powder, non-corrosive primers and select brass for consistent ignition shot to shot, and they are safe to use in all action types, semi-autos included.
