Hornady Superformance .257 Roberts +P is factory-loaded centre-fire rifle ammunition built around the 117-grain SST (Super Shock Tip) bullet, making it a capable round for deer stalking and other medium game where the calibre suits. The Superformance propellant line lifts muzzle velocity by up to around 200 feet per second over conventional loads without raising chamber pressure, felt recoil or muzzle blast, so you gain a flatter trajectory and more retained energy at range while the rifle still handles as you expect. This load leaves the muzzle at roughly 2,945 feet per second with about 2,253 ft-lb of energy. The SST bullet pairs a sharp polymer tip with a high ballistic coefficient, and the InterLock ring locks the jacket to the core for controlled expansion and strong weight retention on impact. Cases are reloadable brass, boxer-primed and non-corrosive, with 20 rounds per box. Note that this is a +P load: it is dimensionally identical to standard .257 Roberts but generates higher pressure, so use it only in a rifle rated and proofed for .257 Roberts +P. As live ammunition it requires a valid Firearm Certificate, with proof of FAC needed before despatch.
