Hornady Superformance is factory centre-fire rifle ammunition built around the 162-grain SST bullet in 7mm Remington Magnum, supplied in a box of 20 rounds. The SST (Super Shock Tip) pairs a sharp polymer tip with a streamlined boat-tail and an InterLock ring inside the jacket, so it expands quickly on impact while the locked core holds together to drive deep. Superformance is the load's real point of difference: its progressive propellants lift muzzle velocity by roughly 100 to 200 fps over conventional loads without raising chamber pressure, recoil or muzzle blast, which means a flatter trajectory and less wind drift at stalking ranges. From a 24-inch test barrel Hornady quotes a muzzle velocity of 3,030 fps. In 7mm Rem Mag with the heavier 162-grain bullet, it is a sensible choice for stalking red, sika and fallow deer and other medium to large game, where the combination of reach, retained energy and reliable expansion earns its keep. Cases are brass and the rounds are loaded to SAAMI specification for consistent ignition shot to shot.
