This is Hornady's lead-free .17 HMR load from the Varmint Express Rimfire range, built around the 15.5-grain NTX polymer-tipped bullet. Rather than a conventional lead core, the NTX uses a sintered metal core, giving you a non-toxic round for ground where lead projectiles are restricted while keeping the flat-shooting character that has made the .17 HMR so popular. Hornady quotes a muzzle velocity of 2525 fps, so trajectory stays tight and predictable across normal rimfire distances, and the brown polymer tip drives controlled expansion on impact. It is a sensible choice for rabbit, hare and other small vermin work, as well as fox control and target practice with a .17 HMR rifle. The cartridges are loaded in Hornady's uniform select brass for reliable factory ignition, and supplied in a box of 50 rounds. As live rimfire ammunition, this is sold subject to UK firearms law: you will need to hold a valid Firearm Certificate covering .17 HMR, and proof of FAC is required before we can dispatch.
