Laurin Metalli is a family-run maker based in Kauhava, Finland, trading since 1918 and now in its fourth generation, producing knife blade blanks, bolsters and other fittings that are 100% made in Finland. A bolster is fitted between the blade tang and the handle scales during a custom knife build or re-handle — it seals the joint, gives a clean transition from blade to grip, and adds weight at the front of the handle for better balance in the hand.
