The Woolpower Mittens 400 are double-knitted mittens built around two layers of Ullfrotté Original 400 — Woolpower's own merino-blend fabric with a looped terry construction that traps air for serious thermal insulation. Made from 70% merino wool, 28% polyamide and 2% elastane, the fabric wicks moisture away and stays warm even when damp, while the polyamide gives it the durability to withstand hard daily use. The seams are deliberately positioned between the two layers rather than against the skin, so there is no chafing on bare hands during a long cold-weather sit. Worn inside a shell mitten they form a highly effective layered system for the coldest conditions; on milder winter days they work well as a standalone mitten. They are pre-shrunk and machine washable at 40°C.
