The Hornady Lock-N-Load Cartridge Gauge for 22-250 Remington is a calibre-specific reloading tool machined to SAAMI chamber tolerances for the 22-250 Rem cartridge, with its .224-inch bore diameter. Constructed from stainless steel with clearly marked lettering, it provides handloaders with a fast and reliable bench check for sized cases and loaded rounds. The 22-250 Remington is a high-velocity foxing and long-range pest-control cartridge, popular with stalkers and vermin shooters who invest time developing precise, consistent loads. Correct case sizing is especially important in a bottlenecked rifle cartridge: a case that is insufficiently sized, over-length, or has an incorrect shoulder datum can cause tight chambering or excessive headspace. Dropping a case or loaded round into the gauge gives an immediate pass or fail against SAAMI specification, adding a valuable quality-control step to any 22-250 handloading session without requiring additional instruments for routine checks.
