The Barnes LRX (Long-Range X) is an all-copper, lead-free bullet head for handloaders, built to match modern rifle accuracy and extended-range optics. In .270 Calibre (.277in diameter) at 129 grains, this boat-tail design carries a polymer tip that lifts the ballistic coefficient to 0.463 (sectional density 0.240), giving flat, consistent trajectories at distance. Barnes' Accu-Groove technology reduces bore friction and fouling for tighter groups, while the scored nose cavity opens instantly on impact into four razor-sharp copper petals, ploughing a wide wound channel and retaining a high proportion of its original weight for deep, reliable penetration on dense, thick-skinned game. Doppler radar testing informed the bullet's profile, optimising it for low drag and top accuracy at extreme range. Supplied in a box of 50 projectiles for handloading rifle rounds such as .270 Winchester, the LRX suits stalkers and long-range hunters who want dependable, ethical performance on deer and other game. As an all-copper design it is also a sound choice where lead-free ammunition is required by law or estate policy.
