Barnes' Tipped Triple-Shock X (TTSX) is an all-copper, lead-free rifle bullet built for reliable expansion and near-total weight retention. This .224in (22 calibre) 50-grain version is a flat base design, supplied as a box of 50 loose projectiles for handloaders - it is a reloading component, not loaded ammunition. It carries all the benefits of Barnes' original TSX: a solid copper shank with multiple relief grooves machined into the bearing surface that reduce fouling and pressure and help consistent accuracy, plus a streamlined polymer tip that boosts the ballistic coefficient and reliably initiates expansion on impact. Barnes re-engineered the nose cavity on the TTSX so it opens faster than the standard TSX, while the copper petals fold back and retain almost all of the bullet's original weight for deep, controlled penetration. At 50 grains in .224in it suits varmint and fox-calibre cartridges such as .223 Remington and .22-250 Remington. Because it is 100% copper, it is also a lead-free option where that matters. G1 ballistic coefficient is 0.229, sectional density 0.142.
