The Hornady A-TIP Match in .224 diameter 90 grain represents the pinnacle of Hornady's match bullet development. Where conventional polymer tips deform over time or during flight, the A-TIP uses a precision-machined aluminium tip that is longer than any polymer equivalent — this shifts the centre of gravity rearward, improves in-flight stability, and produces a consistently superior aerodynamic profile that reduces drag variability and tightens groups. The geometry — ogive shape, tip length, bearing surface and boattail angle — has been optimised specifically for this calibre and weight combination using advanced aeroballistics software and Doppler radar. The AMP (Advanced Manufacturing Process) jacket provides industry-leading concentricity and uniformity for load-to-load consistency. Unlike bulk-washed bullets, A-TIP bullets are sequentially packaged straight from the press with minimal handling, preserving the jacket surface integrity. A polishing cloth is included to prepare bullets immediately before seating. Note: an A-TIP seating stem is required for correct bullet seating and is sold separately. Suited to long-range precision and benchrest competition in fast-twist .224 rifles.
