The Hornady ECX (Extreme Copper alloy eXpanding) is a monolithic copper alloy hunting bullet developed specifically for international markets, with particular attention given to compatibility with traditional European chamber dimensions. The one-piece construction means the bullet will never separate, delivering deep, consistent penetration and around 95% weight retention on impact. A flat polymer tip sits in a hollow cavity at the bullet's nose; on impact it drives back into the bullet to initiate uniform expansion and create a large wound channel. Optimised groove geometry around the bearing surface reduces drag, retaining more velocity downrange without sacrificing the terminal performance that stalkers and driven-hunt rifles demand. At 140 grains in 6.5mm (.264), this bullet sits in the versatile mid-weight bracket for the calibre — capable across red deer, roe, and most European game. Sold in boxes of 50, these are component projectiles for use with reloading equipment; they are not loaded ammunition.
