The Hornady Custom Grade Full-Length 2-Die Set for 17 Hornet (.172) is a precision reloading tool aimed at varmint and fox shooters who handload this compact, low-recoil centrefire cartridge. The full-length sizing die brings fired brass back to SAAMI minimum specifications and features Hornady's Elliptical Expander, which delivers smoother neck sizing and lower friction than a conventional ball expander while also eliminating the need for a separate expander die when necking up. The Zip Spindle locks without slippage and allows both fine incremental adjustments via its light-thread system and rapid coarse movements by zipping the spindle up or down. The precision-polished internal die bore resists case sticking across extended reloading sessions. The in-line seating die uses a floating alignment sleeve to keep bullet, case neck and seating stem in perfect co-axial alignment before the bullet contacts the neck — a measurable aid to seating consistency. Roll crimping is built in, saving a separate die and a press station. Sure-Loc lock rings grip the full die body under constant pressure without thread contact.
