The Hornady Lock-N-Load Bullet Comparator Insert #10 is sized for .358 calibre bullets and is designed for use with the Hornady Lock-N-Load Bullet Comparator Body. Rather than measuring overall cartridge length from tip to base -- a figure that shifts with tip finish variation and material inconsistency -- the comparator insert measures from the bullet base to a fixed point on the ogive, where dimensional variation is negligible. This gives the reloader a repeatable, reliable reference length that holds true across production lots and tip styles. The result is far greater consistency when setting seating depth, which directly influences chamber pressure and accuracy. Handloaders working up precise loads for stalking rifles chambered in .35 Whelen, .358 Winchester or similar cartridges will find this insert an indispensable part of the bench setup. It fits the standard Lock-N-Load Comparator Body and can be used alongside other calibre inserts. Sold as a single insert; a separate Comparator Body is required.
