The Hornady Seater Die #14 is a precision bullet seating die for handloading .312 calibre rifle cartridges. Hornady's In-line Bullet Seating System is the defining feature: the bullet, the case neck and the seating stem are held in exact alignment within a floating sleeve before the bullet enters the case neck, delivering uniform seating depth and the accuracy benefits that go with it. The alignment sleeve is supplied as standard — an advantage Hornady notes that some competitors charge extra for. The die includes a built-in roll crimper, so no separate crimp die is needed and one fewer step is required on the press. The Sure-Loc lock ring clamps the full circumference of the die body with constant pressure; its locking screw tightens without making contact with the die threads, protecting both components through repeated adjustments. Integrated wrench flats allow the die to be fitted and removed without pliers. A retainer ring near the base disengages quickly for cleaning. Thread is standard 7/8"-14, compatible with any press that accepts standard dies. Shell holder is not supplied.
