The Hornady Seater Die #17 is a precision bullet seating die for handloading .338 Win Mag, .340 Weatherby and 8.15x46R cartridges. It is built around Hornady's In-line Bullet Seating System, in which the bullet, case neck and seating stem are all held in precise alignment within a floating sleeve before the bullet enters the case neck — a design that promotes consistent seating depth and improved accuracy from the bench or the hillside. The alignment sleeve is included as standard. The die's built-in roll crimper handles crimping in the same stroke, so no separate crimp die is required and you save a station on the press. The Sure-Loc lock ring clamps around the entire die body with constant, even pressure; the locking screw does not contact the die threads, so both components are preserved through repeated use. Integrated wrench flats provide secure purchase when fitting or removing the die without the need for pliers. A quick-release retainer ring near the base makes stripping the die for cleaning a matter of seconds. Thread is the standard 7/8"-14 that fits any press accepting standard dies.
