The Hornady Shell Plate #7 is a precision-machined steel plate for the Hornady Lock-N-Load AP progressive press and the Projector press. Fitted to the press's rotating indexing platform, it holds cartridge cases as they step through each die station — full-length sizing, decapping, priming, powder charging, bullet seating, and crimping — presenting each case in the correct position at every stage. Each of the five shell holder mouths features a subtle machined radius that allows cases to slide in and out cleanly without catching or marking the case mouth. The retainer spring is designed to hold firm when you insert a case rather than popping out of the way, making high-volume loading sessions faster and less frustrating. Hornady's numbered plates group cartridges by case-head diameter, so Shell Plate #7 will serve all calibres that share its target head size.
