The Hornady Shot Bushing 1 oz is a field load bushing designed for use with all Hornady shotshell reloaders, including the 366 Auto. It sits in the charge bar of the press and meters a 1 oz charge of lead shot on every stroke of the handle, compensating for the way coarser shot -- #6 and larger -- packs more loosely than finer sizes. Because different shot sizes stack differently in a given cavity, a bushing calibrated for field loads gives you a consistent charge weight where a standard trap or skeet bushing would fall short. The bushing is sized for lead shot only and is not suitable for steel shot. If you reload your own game loads -- driven game, walked-up shooting, or any coarse-shot field application -- this bushing drops the right charge reliably, round after round, without weighing each load individually. It is a straightforward consumable that keeps a well-used 366 Auto or other Hornady press turning out consistent 1 oz field loads to the standard Hornady specifies.
