The Hornady 366 Auto Shot Bushing 7/8 oz is a field load bushing designed for use with all Hornady shotshell reloaders, including the 366 Auto progressive press. Shot bushings control the volume of shot dropped at the metering station during each stroke of the press, and this bushing is calibrated specifically to compensate for the larger pellet size of #6 shot when loading 7/8 oz field loads. Because coarser shot packs less densely than fine shot, a standard bushing calibrated for fine shot would under-drop the charge — this bushing corrects for that, ensuring a consistent 7/8 oz drop when loading with lead shot. It is intended for lead shot only and should not be used with steel or other non-toxic alternatives. A straightforward, inexpensive way to adapt your 366 Auto or other compatible Hornady reloader for lighter field loads, whether you are putting together game or walked-up shooting cartridges on the press.
