Eley Sport is the company's entry-level .22 LR rimfire cartridge, built for shooters taking their first steps into precision target work and general plinking. Each round carries a 40-grain (2.59g) lead round-nose bullet over a paraffin-wax lubricant, with a mean muzzle velocity of 1000 to 1090 ft/s and a ballistic coefficient of 0.112. Loaded to a cartridge length of one inch (25.4mm), it cycles dependably through bolt-action and semi-auto rimfires alike, making it a sensible choice for club ranges, practice sessions and low-cost range time. As Eley's most affordable line, Sport trades the tighter tolerances of the Match and Tenex grades for keen value, while still benefiting from the quality control that runs through every Eley product. It suits informal target shooting and close-range vermin control out to around 50 metres, and is an easy round to feed in volume when you are putting in trigger time. Supplied in a box of 50. A current firearms certificate is required to purchase rimfire ammunition in the UK.
