CCI Sub-Sonic HP is a .22LR cartridge built for quiet, dependable performance on rabbits, squirrels and other small quarry. The 40-grain lead hollow point leaves the muzzle at 1,050 ft/sec, keeping the bullet below the sound barrier so the report stays noticeably softer than high-speed hollow points, and softer still through a moderated rifle. The generous hollow-point cavity opens reliably at these lower velocities without fragmenting, which makes for clean kills and tidy carcasses out to sensible rabbiting ranges. CCI quotes around 98 ft-lbs of muzzle energy and a ballistic coefficient of .120, with the load trajectory matching most target rounds to roughly 50 yards, so you can switch between practice and quarry without re-zeroing. Clean-burning propellants help keep the action and barrel running smoothly across a long session, and reliable CCI priming means consistent ignition shot after shot. The 100 rounds come in a reusable plastic box with a flip-up dispenser lid that keeps cartridges to hand on the permission. A sound, well-priced choice for anyone shooting .22 rimfire for vermin control or plinking.
