The Hooyman 5 ft Extendable Tree Saw (model 1001) is a hand-powered pole saw built for clearing shooting lanes, tidying branches around highseats and general pruning on the ground you manage. The MegaBite blade is made from high-carbon SK5 steel in a tapered design with impulse-hardened four-edge teeth, a geometry that bites quickly and holds its edge over a long cutting life. The telescopic arm is rigid I-beam aluminium and each section locks down individually, so the saw stays stiff at full reach yet collapses to just over 12 inches to ride in a daysack or roe sack. Two locking positions let you work in a standard cutting position or hyper-extended for awkward branches, and the in-line design means the folding saw head slides and locks into the extension arm when you need the reach, then detaches to work as a compact handsaw on its own. At 1.55 lb it is light enough to carry on every outing, whether you are prepping a stalking lane or trimming around a hide.
