The Hawke 40mm AO objective sunshade is a threaded metal tube designed to fit the objective bell of compatible Hawke riflescopes with adjustable objective (AO) focusing, reducing glare and cutting internal reflections during bright or low-sun shooting sessions. When stalking with the sun ahead, light scattering across the front element can rob the image of contrast and detail — a sunshade corrects this with no adjustments to the scope required. Measuring 4 inches (100mm) in length, it provides a meaningful reduction in flare for open-country and hill work where the 2-inch shade on smaller-objective scopes would be insufficient. Threaded at both ends, the shade can be stacked with additional shades to build an even longer hood, or Hawke flip-up lens covers can be fitted to the front thread to protect the objective glass when moving through cover. Compatible with Hawke's 2015 collection onwards.
